Hua Hin Beach. It's on the Gulf of Thailand (not Andaman Sea, where we've been working) and 3 hours south of Bangkok. Roommates and I took a bus (imported from the 1960s, I swear) down to this resort town for the weekend. The king is from this area so it's a popular beach destination. We stayed on the Royal Thai Army Base* that is a few kilometers north of the city. You can see the city in the distance from the army beach.
*roommate's uncle is the premier skydiver in the whole country so we had connections!
